Step 1: Being added to the email list
As our club grows effective communication becomes more and more difficult. Therefore, we request that all new
members be on our email list (water.ski.club@umich.edu) and check their e-mail
frequently for club news and activities.
Contact
Cory Cosgrove at cccos@umich.edu if you would like to be added. Also,
check out the rest of this website
as it has many useful resources such as the practice schedule, calendar, tournament information,
updates phone numbers, email addresses, and lots more.
Step 2: Filling out forms
New members can download and fill out these forms and give them to one of the officers. If you are unable to download
these files please contact an officer and they will be able to give them to you.
Club Sports Release Form (pdf) Skier Information Sheet (pdf) Emergency Information Sheet (pdf) Step 3: USA Waterski membership
USA Waterski membership is required for insurance purposes. This costs $35 per year and provides you with a $100,000
medical liability insurance policy for any water skiing related activity. Memberships can be obtained by registering
online at USA Waterski
**Note** On the form, choose Under 25 Active, type "UofM Waterski and Wakeboard Club" for team, and "Collegiate" for Sports Discipline 1st Choice. Step 4: Paying Dues
Membership dues fund various things such as boat payments, insurance, Belleville Ski Club dues, equipment, etc.
Checks can be made payable to U of M Waterski Club and given to an officer.
Spring Skier (May and June): $55 Summer Skier (July and August): $75 Spring/Summer Skier: $120 Recreational Skier Fall: $75 Tournament Skier Fall/Winter: $125* Alumni Skier Spring/Summer: $195 * Tournament Skier dues include team activities, and skiing for Fall and April. Step 5: Scheduling
Scheduling will go through the secretary. The schedule is on the website so you can check to see when drivers will
be at the lake. In the fall there will be a driver scheduled to be at the lake throughout the day so finding groups
to ski with should not be a problem. Email
Cory Cosgrove at cccos@umich.edu to tell her when you would like to ski,
whether you need a ride to the lake, if you have your own equipment and if any special equipment will be needed
(skylon etc). She will contact you to confirm the time and the people with whom you will be skiing. Also, if you
are unable to make your ski time please let the people in your group know as soon as possible so they can plan
accordingly. If it becomes a problem ski privileges will be suspended.
Step 6: Gas Cards
Gas is needed to run the boat so gas is kept track of in a book in the boat. Arrange who brings gas with the
driver. One gas can is equal to 4 sets- (one set is usually 6 slalom passes, 15 minutes trick or wakeboard,
or 5 jumps) Please remember to keep track of the number of sets you take.
Step 7: Getting to the Lake
